Dumplings with Peanut Sauce

A delicious and simple appetizer that will really impress your guests! A shortcut here is to use VG Gourmet Ginger sesame tofu, as a filling for the dumplings, while using the sauce mixed with a bit of peanut butter for the best peanut sauce!


  • 1 x Package VG Gourmet Ginger Sesame Tofu Creations
  • 1 x Cup Chopped Cremini Mushrooms
  • 3 x Scallions, chopped
  • 1 x Package Wonton Wrappers
  • 0.5 x Cups Peanut Butter


  1. Defrost bag of Tofu Creations as directed.
  2. To make the filling: Using a slotted spoon carefully remove the tofu cubes from the sauce in your package and place them in a skillet over medium high heat. (Keep sauce for later). Cook for 3 minutes to brown, carefully smashing the pieces of tofu with your spatula. Add mushrooms and scallions and sauté for 3 minutes more. Remove from heat.
  3. To fill your dumplings: Place about 1 teaspoon of the filling in the centre of each wonton wrapper. Using your fingers wet 2 edges of the wrapper and carefully fold over to make a triangle shape. You can use them as is or for another design, bring the 2 bottom corners towards the front and pinch them together to make a “nurse’s cap” dumpling. These dumplings can be either pan fried or steamed.
  4. To steam: In a steamer basket over boiling water place the dumplings in a single layer. Cover and allow to steam for about 6-7 minutes. To Pan fry: Place a layer of oil in a skillet over medium high heat. Add your dumplings in a single layer. Fry for about 2 minutes per side.
  5. To make the sauce: Place the peanut butter with sauce from the bag of VG Gourmet Ginger Sesame tofu in a sauce pan over medium heat. Whisk well until a nice thick sauce forms.
